There’s only one place to be during the summer months: outside! When the weather is fine and the sun is shining, we all deserve to be in our natural environment. And we may be biased, but we think Regina might just be on the best places to be. Why? Because there’s so much to do! Coming up we have two music events, and a spectacular show on the water. Read on below for all the need to know info.

Beautiful music in the outdoors

You should make the most of any opportunity you get to see the Regina Symphony Orchestra. But seeing them in the great outdoors, on a summer’s day? You have to be there! The ‘Symphony Under the Sky’ event will be taking place on August 25 from 1 - 5 pm at Parks Canada: Motherwell Homestead. There’ll also be family-friendly activities taking place before, from 10 am onwards.

By the lake

Alternatively, you can check out the Shake the Lake Outdoor Music Festival, which will be taking place from August 31 - September 1. Among the line-up are star bands Cheap Trick, Trooper, Platinum Blonde, Harlequin and Chilliwack! Takes place outside the Conexus Arts Centre in Wascana Park.

On the water

Also taking place from August 31 – September 1 at Wascana Park is the Regina Dragon Boat Festival. Head down, and enjoy the spectacle of seeing Chinese style dragon boats out on the water. There’ll also be food and entertainment taking place throughout the weekend, which draws some 20,000 people. Especially recommended if you’re travelling with family.
